Jeff Ralph western riding arena
Project overview
Jeff Ralph, one of the directors of the Australian Reined Cow Horse Association, wanted to build a Western riding arena for reined cow horse riding and other Western riding disciplines. The arena needed to be large enough to hold clinics and competitions for these riding disciplines. For these events, our client wanted a covered viewing area added onto one side of the arena roof.
Our client also wanted the arena to be protected from the weather as much as possible without having enclosed sides. To resolve this, we designed the building with gable infills.

Challenges and solutions
Situated in the rolling hills of Mulgoa, New South Wales, the arena was to be built on a slope surrounded by large trees and foliage, so we needed to ensure our design would accommodate construction with this restricted access.
