The saleyards' alignment with the natural topography required a cover designed to match the levelling contours precisely. Also, maintaining uninterrupted saleyard operations was critical, so we developed a staged construction plan to complete the project efficiently without causing disruptions.

Her vision focused on horse and rider safety with a shallow roof gradient to blend with her existing property infrastructure. The incorporation of a curved roofline was our solution to achieving an unobtrusive roof design.

Challenges and solutions

After analysing various feedlot cover designs, the client decided on a four-gable design, which was the most cost-effective and practical solution. The client planned a yard fit-out after the structure was installed so we manufactured the columns with pre-drilled holes to accommodate for this.

All box gutters needed to be clear span to one end of the building to prevent runoff from entering the covered area of the yards.

“Central Steel Build was able to provide the feedlot cover we had designed at a competitive price on the day. The build was seamless with the company representatives easy to work with and keen to provide assistance when it was needed.”
