Portland Aluminium & Glass combined office and manufacturing building

Project overview

Portland Aluminium & Glass contacted their local commercial builder Bolden Constructions to design and construct their new office and manufacturing premises in Warrnambool, VIC. Bolden Constructions approached us with a brief to design a precast double-story office and manufacturing building featuring an architectural façade and box guttering.

The manufacturing area would feature a full-length gantry crane, thus requiring specific engineering and design to support the crane. The mezzanine would extend into the manufacturing space, allowing for a material storage area.

Challenges and solutions

During the design phase, our drafting team pioneered a new design for the building’s façade including a ladder awning. This required close attention to ensure the design was value-engineered and easy to install.

Overall, this project was straightforward and there were no unforeseen challenges to contend with.
