Stephen Rocard architectural portal framed house
Project overview
Stephen contacted us to design, value engineer, and construct a custom architectural portal framed house with a high-pitched roof. We needed to design the building for a site with steep ground fall.
The building included a lot of custom features, such as small custom canopies over every window. These canopies were designed to hold timber slats in summer for shade and are removed in the colder months to take advantage of winter sunlight.

Challenges and solutions
Due to significant ground fall on-site, the building was split into three levels. This allowed our client to keep the single-floor house design without noticeable changes due to changing ground level. Central Steel Build also provided the steel bearers and joists for the suspended floor.
